Previously, she operated her own child care center in 1993 and a laundromat in 1997. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration from the Metropolitan College of New York in 2006 and holds a Certification in Child Care Provider Program from Brooklyn College (1994), a Certification in Parent Leadership Project from the New York City Department of Education (1993), a Certification in Word Processing from the Adelphi Institute (1986) and a Certification in Airport Computer and Ticket Agent from the Panamerican School of Travel (1985).
